Love the theme!  Excited to get it working for our news-based humor site.

At some point while getting everything setup, the homepage started showing a 404. The homepage shows correctly when browsing in the theme selector (preview), and also shows up correctly if I using an alternate theme with similar dynamic homepage.  I'm assuming it's some vague problem with how News Plus specifically is talking to the data, perhaps related to the way it pulls homepage with all those categories?

Here's the temporary page:  http://strongtakes.com/wp

Here's the process I followed in getting it setup:

  • Installed theme
  • Activated all the plugins
  • Imported posts from a movable-type-formatted file (exported from EE); imported all tags as categories because I could not get tags to import directly.
  • Converted categories to tags, then converted some tags back to categories
  • Found a problem, erased all posts, erased all categories, re-imported the content and repeated the process

I tried re-uploading the theme files to the server, but that didn't fix it, so I'm guessing it's a problem with the database.  Any ideas of what combination of plugins and data import would cause the News Plus homepage not to show up?  It's strange that the theme preview shows the hompage fine, but not once the theme is actually activated.

Wordpress 2.7.1, PHP 5, Dreamhost server.

Any insight is appreciated.  Thank you!

Sorry for the late response, I'm not sure what this could be, there's always a chance of something not functioning correctly when importing data from other sources such as EE. If you forward over your blog information I can take a look.
