Hi there,

Love the theme, but i'm currently stuck with 3 issues that I can't seem to fix on my own:

1) I can't get the contact page to work properly. I've set it up the same as in the demo version, and the page renders properly when it's viewed. But when I click Submit, it says "Oops, I screwed up and you discovered my fatal flaw. Well, we're not all perfect, but we try. Can you try this again or maybe visit our Home Page to start fresh. We'll do better next time."

2) I can't get the gallery to work properly. I've set up a test gallery, and linked it to the gallery page, which is set to the gallery template in the page options. Rather than displaying the gallery, the only text visible is "Gallery"

3) I have a sub category set for one of my pages, but it is not showing up when I hover over the page link at the top of the site. I'm not sure if that ability to next categories is disabled in the theme, since it's not visible in the demo, but I'm hoping there's an easy fix.

– Actaully, make that 4 problems. I can't for the life of me get the Featured Content Gallery working. I've followed all the instructions to the letter for setting it up. The thumbnails are working, but the text and images are not. I've posted a message to the FCG fourms as well, to see if they're able to figure this out, but I figured since it's working in your demo version, you might be able to shed some light on it.

any help would be appreciated.

Here's the site, it's still a work in progress: http://www.rainbowlights.ca

Thanks!

Ok, I managed to get the FCG working for the most part… it's still showing a yellow background, instead of black, so I have to figure that out. It was an incompatibility with the supplied Share This plugin. Once I updated it, it worked fine. I'd still love help on the other problems though.

Thanks!

Nice customizations so far, I can tell you're really trying to get the most out of this theme.

1) The contact page – If this is not working confirm all settings on the Contact Form settings page under Tools in your /wp-admin/ – wp-admin/tools.php?page=contact-form-7/wp-contact-form-7.php – it could be that a basic setting is misconfigured. The error you are getting is simply the default 404 page which mean the contact form is probably missing a setting.

2) Make sure you have something like [nggallery id=1] in the body of the Gallery page. This is what tells the Gallery plugin to grab a certain gallery according to the ID.

3) This theme has no inherent subcategory navigation. I would recommend linking to your sub pages from the body of the parent page. There is an update planned for this, that should be released shortly, that will add styling for subnavigation.

4) I see that's working good for you now =)

If you still have some issues let me know, you can submit a support request as well with your blog info and I can take a look for you if things get a bit tricky.

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply.

I kind of figured there was no support for subcategories. I'll figure something out for the time being till the update is released.

I managed to get the Gallery working with your help. Thanks!

I'm still having trouble with the contact fourm however. I had my contact page set to the "Contact" template in the page options, and no matter what changes I made to the options in the Contact Fourm 7 options, they wouldn't be reflected in that page. So I changed the template to default, and pasted in the standard [contact-form 1 "Contact form 1"] that it requests. That seems to work, but not all the styling is gone. When I go back to the contact template, nothing works again.

So, how do I get the nice looking contact page, that actually works? :) heh

Another simple question I had, was is there any way to limit the amount of posts per page? I can't seem to find an option for that anywhere in wordpress or the theme.

Thanks again!

Hey guys,

Sorry, but i'm having one additional issue… It appears that the default code for the sidebar is broken when viewed in IE 7. The sidebar on my site is totally jumbled up in IE, but looks fine in firefox and safari.

I checked the demo site, and it looks like it's working properly in IE, so I'm wondering what the issue is. I tried copy/pasting the code from the original sidebar into my modified version to test it. It was still broken, so it's not any of the modifications that i'm doing.

Any help with this would also be appreciated. :)

Thanks!

Ok! I managed to figure this part out! I just copied and pasted the code that I found on your demo theme into my contact page, and that seems to have solved it. It looks like the default for the contact page doesn't ahve anything to do with Contact Fourm 7. You have to plug in all those references on your own. Personally, I think the default setup should have that already.

I also figured out the posts per page thing. that was just blindness on my part.

Thanks!
